FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is a token delegate on Solana and why is it dangerous?
A delegate is an address you approved to move some of your tokens, Solana's version of a token approval. It can transfer up to the approved amount at any time without asking you. Drainer sites trick people into approving one. If you don't recognise a delegate, move those tokens to another wallet you control or revoke it from your wallet.
How do I spot scam tokens in my Solana wallet?
Scammers airdrop tokens whose names copy real ones (like USDC), use look-alike letters, or advertise a website to "claim" a reward. That site asks you to sign a transaction that empties your wallet. Holding the token is harmless; never visit the link or try to sell it there. CryptGuard flags these and hides them for you.
What do mint authority and freeze authority mean for a Solana token?
Mint authority lets the creator print more tokens; freeze authority lets them lock any holder's balance so it can't be sold. For regulated stablecoins such as USDC this control is normal. For a new or unverified token it is a major red flag, and many rug pulls rely on it.
Is it safe to check my Solana wallet with CryptGuard?
Yes. You only paste your public address; CryptGuard reads public blockchain data and never asks you to connect a wallet, sign anything or share your recovery phrase or private key. Anyone who asks for your recovery phrase is trying to steal your funds.
