Paste a token contract before you buy. We simulate a sell, measure the tax, and list every power the owner holds over your tokens, in plain English.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if a token is a honeypot?
A honeypot lets you buy but not sell. CryptGuard simulates a real holder sending the token to its trading pool, which is what a sell does. If that fails while a normal transfer works, selling is blocked. We also measure the tax taken on transfers.
What makes a token risky even if it is not a honeypot?
An owner who can mint unlimited new tokens, blacklist your address, pause trading, raise fees at will, or swap the contract code for a new version. Large stablecoins like USDC have some of these powers too, which is why CryptGuard explains each one instead of calling everything a scam.
Is a verified contract safe?
Verified only means the source code is public. It is a good sign, because anyone can read what the owner can do, but the code can still contain dangerous powers. CryptGuard reads both verification and the functions the contract exposes.
Which chains does the token checker support?
Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, BNB Chain, Polygon and Avalanche. The honeypot sell test needs a known trading pool, so it is most complete on Ethereum. Every result lists exactly what was and was not checked.
